Today has been a truly wonderful day for everyone at Headway Kent. Not only were our regular Friday members with us, but we were also joined by the Thursday group from Canterbury, along with members from Folkestone and Hythe.
The reason for this special gathering?
We were delighted to premiere the brand-new Headway Kent short film, a powerful five-minute piece created by the exceptionally generous team at Rocking Horse Pictures Ltd. Marc, Nick, and their talented crew kindly donated their time, skills, and expertise to produce something truly extraordinary for our community.
The film, titled “More to Me Than Brain Injury,” focuses on four of our members. Each shares their personal journey—how brain injury has changed their lives, the challenges they have faced, and the their hopes for the future.
But most importantly, the film highlights something we at Headway Kent know to be true every day:
A person is so much more than their brain injury.
Recovery is not a single moment—it is a continuous process. And alongside that journey, having a community where individuals feel safe, understood, and valued is essential. Our centres across Kent provide exactly that: a welcoming place where people can simply be themselves, without apology, and with the comfort of knowing that everyone around them truly understands what they are going through.
We cannot thank Rocking Horse Pictures, Marc, Nick, and their entire team enough for creating this incredible film. Their generosity means the world to us and will help raise awareness of the realities of living with a brain injury and the importance of ongoing support.
“More to Me Than Brain Injury” now forms a key part of our training and engagement package.
If you would like Headway Kent to deliver a talk, training session, or awareness presentation about brain injury, its long-term effects, or the support available, we would be delighted to attend your workplace, school, organisation, or event.
