Last year, we launched our Student Ambassador Scheme in partnership with The Worthgate International School in Canterbury. The initiative offers Year 12 and 13 students the opportunity to volunteer at our Canterbury hub, where they raise awareness about brain injury and prevention among their peers, while also fundraising for Headway Kent.
Now in its second year, the scheme has become a valuable part of our volunteer programme. The students have been a fantastic asset—well-liked by both staff and clients. They've brought a vibrant international perspective, often giving presentations about life in their home countries.
We're always delighted to hear how our work positively impacts young people. Recently, we were thrilled to learn that two of last year’s student ambassadors have been accepted to their first-choice universities to study medicine. Even more inspiring, both now hope to specialise in neurology—one of them planning to study in Grenada, in the West Indies!
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Worthgate School for their continued support of the Student Ambassador Scheme. We can’t wait to see where this year’s cohort will go next!
